# Contacts: Merge Duplicate Companies

> Select two companies in the companies table and combine them into one record.

You can now merge duplicate companies, just as you can merge customers. Select exactly two companies in the companies table and choose Merge from the command bar.

The merge sheet asks only about fields where the two companies differ. It keeps values that only one company has, combines emails, phones, names, and industries, and shows a live preview of the merged company.

Subsidiaries that pointed to either original company now point to the merged company. Merging requires the same permission as merging customers.
