# Introduction

Understand Company Brain and choose between OpenClaw, Hermes, and Postiz.

Welcome to the **Company Brain Plugin** — the layer of erxes where your
workspace gains AI assistants and a social media pipeline, side by side with
the Content Plugin you may already use.

Company Brain ships three modules from a single plugin:

- **OpenClaw Assistant** — a dedicated AI assistant with its own isolated
runtime, connected to the model provider of your choice.
- **Hermes Agent** — a second, fully isolated agent runtime with persistent
storage, erxes workspace tools, and a shared skill registry.
- **Social / Postiz** — a connected social media workspace where your team
drafts, reviews, schedules, and publishes content.

## What is Company Brain?

Company Brain is the umbrella name for the plugin's surfaces inside erxes.
It is where a workspace creates dedicated AI assistants, connects a model
provider, shares assistant access with team members, and connects assistants
to Discord. Postiz adds a social publishing surface governed by its own erxes
access model.

Company Brain is not a single chatbot bolted onto erxes. Each assistant gets
its own isolated runtime that erxes provisions for you, and Postiz gets its
own workspace provisioned through the Postiz gateway. Access, billing, and
runtime isolation are all handled by the plugin.

## What are the three modules for?

### OpenClaw Assistant

OpenClaw is a general-purpose assistant runtime for day-to-day company work:
answering questions with your providers, running tools, and optional Discord
presence.

- Create multiple assistants, each with its own provider and model.
- Connect with a provider API key or a provider subscription plan.
- Invite team members to an assistant and open the runtime from the browser.
- Connect the assistant to a Discord server and channel.
- Transfer an assistant between erxes SaaS organizations without losing its
  runtime or its provider connection.

### Hermes Agent

Hermes is a second assistant runtime kind, separate from OpenClaw. Choose
Hermes when you want:

- A per-assistant isolated namespace with persistent storage — credentials
  and workspace state survive restarts.
- An embedded WebUI reached through a short-lived, backend-minted login URL
(never a raw password in the browser).
- Optional erxes workspace tools: after an OAuth approval, the assistant can
search and call only the erxes capabilities your permissions allow.
- The shared skill pot: publish community skills for your organization or use
  verified skills promoted by erxes.
- Discord binding with the same official erxes AI Assistant bot as OpenClaw,
with assistant- and runtime-scoped channel bindings.

### Social / Postiz

Postiz is the social media module. It is provisioned differently: instead of
a runtime per assistant, your tenant gets a workspace on a shared, managed
Postiz installation.

- The erxes owner connects the workspace and selects the initial Postiz
Admin from your active erxes users.
- Admins invite teammates as Postiz Admins or Members.
- Members draft, review, and schedule social content in Postiz.
- Optionally, the erxes CMS can hand approved content to Postiz through a
signed server-to-server bridge (disabled by default).

## What Company Brain is not

- It is not a single sign-on service. Postiz accounts and Hermes/OpenClaw
runtime logins are separate from erxes authentication.
- It is not automatic access to every erxes module. An assistant can only act
through explicitly approved tools and permissions.
- It is not an unmanaged BYO-key chat. Runtimes are provisioned and monitored
by the plugin; providers are connected through managed flows.

## Who this guide is for

- **Workspace owners** creating assistants, connecting providers, selecting
the initial Postiz Admin, and managing access.
- **Team members** who are invited to an assistant or the social workspace.
- **Developers and operators** deploying the plugin on erxes SaaS or an
enterprise installation, including the Kubernetes topology.
