File Upload
How to use: Access file upload configuration by selecting "File Upload" from the WORKSPACE section in the settings sidebar. Review the two sections: "UPLOAD FILE TYPES" for general system uploads and "UPLOAD FILE TYPES OF WIDGET" for embedded upload features. View currently allowed file types displayed as removable tags—each shows the format description and file extension. Remove file types from the allowed list by clicking the "×" next to that format—blocks users from uploading those file types. Add new file types by using the search field—type format names or extensions to find and select additional formats to allow. Configure image format permissions—decide which image types (JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, WEBP, HEIC, HEIF) users can upload. Set document format restrictions—control uploads of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, and other office documents. Manage compressed file permissions—allow or block ZIP, RAR, 7z, and other archive formats. Control media uploads by setting which audio and video formats are acceptable—MP3, MP4, WAV, MPEG, etc. Configure widget-specific restrictions separately—embedded upload widgets may need tighter restrictions for security. Balance security with functionality—allow necessary formats while blocking potentially dangerous file types like executables. Review and update file type settings periodically as business needs change or security threats evolve. Test upload restrictions by attempting to upload various file types and verifying the system properly accepts or rejects them. Communicate file upload policies to users so they understand which formats are supported and why restrictions exist. Consider file size limits alongside file type restrictions for complete upload control—manage storage capacity effectively.
