1. Getting Started with the Operation Plugin

1. Getting Started with the Operation Plugin

The Operation plugin is one of the core modules in erxes, designed to help your team manage tasks, organize projects, assign responsibilities, and track progress effectively. If you're new to this plugin, follow the steps below to get started quickly and confidently.

What is the Operation Plugin?

The Operation plugin allows you to manage your work using Tasks, Projects, and Cycles. It’s ideal for tracking both individual assignments and larger, team-based goals.

🧭 Navigation: Find the Operation plugin in the left sidebar of your erxes workspace.

Step 1: Set Up Your Team

Every task in Operation must be associated with a Team. Before you create a task, make sure you either join an existing team or create one.

🛠 If you have admin access:

  • Go to Settings → Teams → + Create Team to create a new team.

Step 2: Create Your First Task

Tasks represent actionable items. Creating a task helps track progress, assign ownership, and clarify priorities.

📝 To create a task:

  1. Go to the Operation plugin.
  2. Click the "Create Task" button.
  3. Add a title for your task.
  4. Select the Team the task belongs to.
  5. Optionally, fill in additional fields like assignee, due date, priority, or labels.
  6. Click Save to create the task.

💡 Note: A Team selection is required for every task.

Step 3: Locate Your Task

Once a task is created, you can view it in the following places:

  • My Tasks → Created by me
  • Team  → Task tab

👁 If the task is assigned to you, it will also appear under My Tasks → Assigned to me.
