5. How to Track and Prioritize Your Work

The Operation plugin helps you monitor your tasks and keep focus on the most important ones. By using Status, Priority, Tag, and View configuration, you can better manage your workload and make smarter decisions about what to tackle next.

📌 Task Status

Each task has a status that reflects its current progress. Statuses are customizable per team, but commonly include:

  • Backlog: Planned but not yet started
  • Todo: Ready to begin
  • In progress: Currently being worked on
  • Blocked: Stuck or awaiting input
  • Done: Completed
  • Cancelled: No longer needed

All status changes are logged in the task’s activity feed for team visibility.

⭐️ Priority Levels

You can assign one of five priority levels to a task:

  • Critical – Extremely urgent and important
  • High – Important and time-sensitive
  • Medium – Moderate importance
  • Low – Can be delayed if needed
  • No Priority – No urgency or priority assigned

Priority is a key factor in determining how tasks are sorted and displayed across different views.

🏷 Using Tags

Tags are useful for categorizing and organizing tasks by topic, department, or context. You can:

  • Create tags at the team level
  • Add multiple tags to a task
  • Filter and group tasks by tag

This helps you quickly locate related tasks or identify patterns across your projects.

Task Views

Choose from different views to manage your work more effectively:

  • List view – A simple, vertical task list
  • Board view (Kanban) – Columns based on status for workflow management

✅ Tips for Prioritizing Effectively

  • When creating a task, always set the Priority, Due date, and optionally add to a Cycle
  • Tackle Critical and High priority tasks first
  • Identify and unblock tasks marked as Blocked
  • Move completed work to Done to reduce clutter
