What’s new?

Employee work classifications

You can classify your employees according to the belonging group at the company which helps you to work orderly. By being able to see who belongs to which department, units, and branch, employees can have control over their work. Also, it helps your company to build a more systematic and structured work environment.

Classification can be done as follows:

  • Structure: This feature is for the whole organization. When you create the ‘STRUCTURE’ all the employees should be added to it.
  • Department: A member of any team should belong to only one department.
  • Unit: As opposed to the department feature, employees can belong to more than one unit.
  • Branch: Here you can create a section for the people who work for the different branches of a business or an organization.

Bug Fixes and UX Improvements

Adding filters to your work view

The new feature was added in the sales area on the platform: it is called Gannt. It gives you an opportunity to plan your work, distinguish your tasks, and take control over all the internal work and employees’ performance. By using this, you can work more effectively and it also helps you to be more organized.

You can filter your work by:

  • Assignee
  • Labels
  • Priority
  • Stage

A more convenient way to import documents

We enhanced the ‘import’ section where you can add many more relatable files and merge them in.

Set up and manage access requests to reports

The access request feature allows you to manage the people who can see the documents and files you share. First, you should decide whether all people can see your files or not. If you don’t want to share your docs publicly, you’ll have to set the private mode up and choose certain people, who you think are relatable to that work, to be given permission to see the file.

What’s next?

The erxes platform will be transitioning to our erxes 1.0 update in the coming months. In this update, erxes will implement a plug-in-based architecture where third party-developers can contribute to the core platform. In addition, we plan to transition to a serverless and scalable architecture that is fully cloud compatible.

By transitioning to an event-driven serverless architecture we can decrease the overall strain on the server and supply server space to the most heavily used plugins thereby increasing speed for the end-user. With erxes becoming cloud compatible, businesses can decide to host on their preferred cloud providers whether it be AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, etc…

Plugin architecture

Our Plugin architecture is formed from two base components:

  1. The core erxes platform
  2. Plug-in modules

This plugin-based architecture has the benefit of providing scalability, flexibility, and modularity based on the customer’s needs. This architecture also facilitates the development of plug-ins by third-party developers by simplifying the development process.

Serverless and Scalable

By implementing a serverless architecture we are providing our clients with the ability to scale plugins to their needs on an on-demand basis. Clients no longer have to pay for server space that they are not utilizing. There are several concrete advantages to such a framework such as the inherent scalability of the framework, the increased speed of deployments and updates, and decreased latency.

Cloud compatible

We at erxes believe that the power of determination should belong to the user. Host the erxes platform on the SaaS cloud service of your choice whether it be AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Platform, Azure, etc…
